A cinematic splendour par excellence and a cry out loud against the imperialistic trends that we are so getting used to in the world today! Animation and technology used to create an impact like no other in a long long time...
But more than just the visuals the film raises a series of questions subtly at times and otherwise too...through well researched concepts into mythology...the puranas the vishnu avatars and manifestations of Devi.
Even after a few thousand years of civilisation where are we? The film definitely brought me face to face once again with questions that trouble the grassroots me time and again...the mere destruction which results from the use or misuse of power and the slavery..or "Das-atta" of it all... but then when did power ever not bind?
Through the most gorgeous landscapes and flights of fantasy the film is a travel to a world not really unknown...its a beauty we all dream of and wish had been and want to be a part of, the riot of colours through the flowers the fauna and even the grotesque creatures of another world take on another meaning of splendour..only to be rudely awakened by the harsh reality of machines and the brutality of humans...a film where the real ugly face is that of man and his ego...and his neverending need to trespass...
Destruction of a serene world...where the dream is the reality as the main protagonist aptly mentions in one scene...in a world where "taming" the wild is only achieved if it attempts to kill you...a stange sense of bond comes from testing your extremes and intent to be one and the voice of the inner pure soul.If you are ready to be killed just for the unison then ONLY its worth it...such poignant statements so contrary to whats real to us...mere mortals against our Avatars.
Why is it that anything that does not conform to our sense of social rights and wrongs needs to be intruded upon and brought to task? Why do we need to destroy communities, people , traditions...how much more before we end up burning in the same fires that we throw out to make them run deeper...
Do we create demons in an alien world or are we the demons ,alien to ourselves? What are we as big nations trying to achive by this incessant fight to bring all into our fold? All under control and what control?
What is this rush and fervour to destroy what was, what is and what will or may be in this eternal contest to trespass and thereby destroy and rejoice at it! Is it all a race to destroy what is indegenious because somewhere deep down we are threatened by their world, fearing the insignificance of our everyday "progress" and race towards the end of it all...? Why cant we just let the world move the way its meant to be without getting it all messed up battered and torn from all ends?
